    15th Bi-annual Carrboro CD and Record Show

    The 15th Bi-annual Carrboro CD and Record Show is Sunday, November 4 from Noon till 6 p.m. at the Carrboro Century Center in Century Hall (2nd floor), at 100 North Greensboro St. (Intersection of Greensboro Street with Main & Weaver Streets.)     Volunteer for Tax Season

    Want to help low- to middle-income clients with their taxes and make a difference in their lives? VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is a free IRS service for eligible clients offered at sites in Orange and Chatham counties. Attend a free orientation to learn more 1 - 3 p.m. either Wed., Nov. 7 or Wed., Dec 5, Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Rd., Chapel Hill or call for information 919.968.2054. The VITA tax program provides a broad range of volunteer opportunities. IRS trained and tested volunteers serve as tax preparers, quality reviewers and tax room managers. Administrative volunteers serve as support coordinators, interpreters, return transmitters, computer specialists or statisticians. Volunteers are also needed to join the Telephone Team to schedule appointments or make reminder calls. RSVP is also looking for bilingual volunteers to serve. Free training starts in January.
