It has been a few months since the Chatham County Line has graced your mailbox. We have had a presence digitally, but not in print.

In part this has been due to the toll that the COVID-19 pandemic has certainly taken on our community and state, but to be frank it has also been due to a bit of soul searching on my part. The Chatham County Line is fortunate to have committed contributors to the publication and my wife, Lesley Landis, is a patient and tireless professional graphic designer.

Furthermore, the paper has been kept going for nearly twenty years by wonderful people like its former publisher and editor, Julian Sereno, designer Hart Palmer and web designer Jackie Helvey who made it a labor of love to bring all voices to the community. We now have that responsibility and after some reflection we have retooled and recommitted to local media and bringing stories, interesting content and news to the community.

To that end we are excited to announce the affiliation of NC Press Association award winning reporter, Casey Mann, with our publication. For nearly five years she has worked hard in the community for the Chatham News & Record and this is her first issue with the Chatham County Line as a senior correspondent. She will continue to cover local government and work with me on long form content that we believe is a cornerstone of local media.

If you have stories, tips or ideas please feel free to email Casey at news@ChathamCountyLine.org. And if you need to reach me you can email me at publisher@ChathamCountyLine.org.

No publication can survive without the support of advertisers so please send all inquiries to ads@ChathamCountyLine.org.

Onward and Upward!
