Now more than ever, Americans are waking up to the notion that fresh food from local growers is best. Food from local farms, ranches, fisheries, and bakers travel fewer miles, has greater nutritional value, is healthier for consumers, and tastes great. Further, knowing the people who grow your food is a special relationship that many chefs, foodies, and people who just like to eat really value. Chatham County NC is in the enviable position of being home to a robust variety of small farms and several farmer’s markets.
