Bobbie Morel: Food for the People

Aired on January 11, 2026
• Food Insecurity, Chuckwagon, Community
Thirteen percent of residents in Chatham County are food insecure. According to the website for The Chatham Alliance, “In June 2021, several Chatham County churches, NC gathered to discuss the idea of partnering to serve and support the community by providing nutritional assistance and compassion. The premise was that together [they] could offer a sustainable service to the community in the form of a free, pre-cooked, vacuum packed and frozen entree on a weekly basis.” Four years later, The Chatham Alliance partners with five churches and three restaurants, and oversees dozens of volunteers to happily offer four different programs that all together have served over 100,000 meals to address food insecurity. Listen in and meet our guest:

Service is a part of living for Bobbie Morel and food is her love language.
